Many coastal villagers watch the ocean, mimicking its push and pull in their fighting technique. The wave watcher is one such fighter. His tempest stance overwhelms his foes, omnipresent and dangerous as a riptide.
Harbor Step (Ex)
A wave watcher gains an insight bonus equal to 1/2 his level (minimum 1) on Acrobatics skill checks and may share the space of a creature his size category or larger.
This replaces track
Tempest Stance (Ex)
The wave watcher practices the art of the tempest stance, staying behind his enemy to avoid danger. When the wave watcher charges, he may attempt an Acrobatics check at the beginning of his charge (DC = that creature’s CMD). If he fails, he resolves his charge as normal. If he succeeds, he does not provoke attacks of opportunity from his movement fro, the target of his charge and ends his charge in the closest square occupied by his target.
While sharing a square with an enemy within one size category of himself, he is considered to be flanking that creature.
At 7th level, the wave watch may use this ability as a move action.
This replaces studied target
Undertow
At 4th level, the DC of Acrobatics checks made to avoid provoking attacks of opportunity from leaving a square threatened by the wave watcher allies is increased by +5. This increases to +10 at 14th level.
This ability replaces the slayer talent gained at 4th level
Drowning Presence
At 7th level, creatures using a 5-foot step or withdraw action to exit the wave watcher’s square provoke attacks of opportunity from the wave watcher and his allies.
This replaces stalker
Tempestuous Torrent
At 13th level, when the wave watcher makes a full-attack against a creature who shares his square, he may attempt a free trip combat maneuver at the end of his action. This attempt does not provoke attacks of opportunity. He may use this ability 3 times per day at 13th level and an additional time per day at 17th and 20th level.
This replaces slayer’s advance
Ocean’s Power
At 14th level, the wave watcher’s flanking bonus on attack rolls is increased by +2.
This replaces quarry
Coastal Warden
At 19th level, the wave watcher’s base land speed increases by 30. This increase is treated as an enhancement bonus.
This replaces improved quarry
Master of the Tempest
At 20th level, the wave watcher may make a full-attack at the end of a charge as long as he ended that move in an opponent’s square.
This replaces master slayer
