When a spirit dies and is unable to pass on, it often returns as a spiritualist's phantom. However, some spirits remain in a more esoteric form, following those they loved and trusted in their life. Those who are followed by these spirits can offer a refuge from the pain of undeath, housing their crumbling souls in a mortal body.
Bonded Spirit
At 1st level, the bonded medium becomes the vessel of a displaced spirit who yearns to live again. These are often the spirits of those who were killed before their time, especially those who knew the medium in life. When the bonded medium conducts a seance, he always channels this spirit, and it is always of the same legend. He may not choose to channel a weaker spirit. He may channel this spirit in any location.
Because of the bonded medium’s familiarity with this spirit, the spirit bonus provided by his bonded spirit is increased by +1.

Diplomatic Anchor (Ex)
Beginning at 3rd level, the bonded medium learns to work more easily in tandem with his bonded spirit. He may take up to three taboos each day, instead of one, gaining additional uses of spirit surge for each taboo taken. Once per day per taboo taken, when the medium breaks a taboo, he may attempt a Diplomacy skill check (DC = 10 + twice the number of total taboos taken). If he succeeds, the spirit forgives the offense, and imparts no penalty or additional influence.
This replaces haunt channeler and modifies taboo
Question Spirit (Sp)
At 5th level, the bonded medium learns to question his bonded spirit, gaining insight into situations or problems. He may allow his spirit to gain one point of influence over him as a standard action in order to cast augury as a spell-like ability. He always has a 95% chance of success when using this ability.

Spirit Introduction (Sp)
At 7th level, the bonded medium’s spirit gains a lesser bind with his allies. When the bonded medium conducts his seance each day, he may cast spirit bonds as a spell-like ability, bonding with each creature participating in his seance.

Spiritual Concentration
Beginning at 15th, when the bonded medium casts a spell with a duration of concentration, he may surrender control of the spell to his spirit. He may maintain the spell as a free action by allowing his spirit to concentrate instead of doing so himself. He may not change any decisions required by the spell while his spirit maintains concentration. He may only have his spirit maintain concentration on his spells for a number of rounds per day equal to his Charisma modifier + 1/2 his medium level and may only have his spirit maintain concentration on 1 spell in this way.
This replaces trance of three
Improved Diplomatic Anchor
At 19th level, the Medium and his bonded spirit act as one being, trusting each other unequivocally. When using his diplomatic anchor ability, he may take an number of taboos equal to his Charisma modifier, and may select taboos from other spirits.
This replaces spirit mastery
Twin Spirits
At 20th level, the bonded medium’s spirit becomes more adept at maintaining his spells. His spirit may concentrate on two spells at once. The bonded medium must spend a total of 3 rounds of spiritual concentration for each round that the spirit maintains their concentration on two spells.
