Jun Almaya is the kitsune goddess of healing, redemption, and ancestors. In life, Jun Almaya built the temple Tian Ta with her magic and became the first High Augur. It was this act of magic that drew the ancestors of the Kitsune away from the Catacombs and into eternal bliss and life within Tian Ta. A highly accomplished cleric in the time before her ascension, Jun Almaya is often offered prayers by criminals seeking reform and freely grants atonements to those who ask.

In the peak of Tian Ta, a young convicted thief, head bowed in shame, approached the altar filled with deific statues. With slow deliberate motions, he knelt, and bowed his head. Tears streamed down his face, and he called in a whisper. “Who is the god who would show me mercy? Where is the light in the darkness which swallows me whole? To whom may I pledge my undying devotion.”
And then a warm, white light did fill the room, followed by a soft and gentle hum. Amidst the shivering drone, a woman’s voice replied, “I am Jun Almaya, Voice of the Lost, The Great Redeemer, The Eternal Light. You have shown your atonement, and your redemption is nigh. Pledge yourself unto the goodness of the world, unto me, and unto the sacred light. Swear your life to me, and I shall give you a purpose.”
Hope filled the eyes of the convict as he prostrated himself before the shrine. “I do pledge myself unto you, Jun Almaya. Keep your faith in me, and I shall keep my faith in you.”
And then the light did flare and fade, and the voice said “Begin anew, faithful of my heart, and you shall be redeemed.”
