The Wageni live their lives in a world of black and white. Completely colorblind, members of this race are untrusting and xenophobic at worst and fanatical and bigoted at best. Wageni value the duality imparted by their color blindness. They prefer to see things in black and white, and dislike those who wear colorful clothing, which appear to them in shades of grey. Giving a colorful gift to a wageni is a tremendous insult.
Appearance: Wageni appear mostly humanoid, except for their pure white skin and hair, and eyes. Wageni wear black and white clothing and jewelry, sometimes tattooing themselves with intricate patterns on their hands and faces, though only in black ink.
Location: Wageni live in insular communities in the Volorin Mountains. While the majority of Wageni refuse contact with those outside their race, the few who choose to leave and join military installations or schools of magic find that their mentality leads itself to the study of arcane magic. Wageni often create small schoolhouses which double as community centers, hosting bake sales, sporting events, and community meetings.
Names: Becky, Martha, Debby, Pam, Patricia, Carol, Susan, Hillary, Clyde, Brad, Mac, Chad, Donald, Hugh, Kevin,
Alignment and Religion: Wageni are bigoted and xenophobic, often tending towards Lawful Evil alignments. Most wageni do not worship deities, choosing to venerate their strange ideals instead.
Relations: Wageni’s deep xenophobia keep them from forming bonds with those who are not wageni. Wageni in the House of Herons form stiff, professional relationships with other favored citizens of the city, most often with white skinned paeori.
Adventurers: Wageni often learn to fight in communal schools, training in the art of the gunslinger or samurai. Wageni do not usually join adventuring parties with those who are not Wageni. Those that do begin as xenophobic and standoffish but over time become loyal, invaluable allies.

Size: Wageni are Medium creatures and thus receive no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
Type: Wageni are humanoids with the Wageni subtype.

Other Racial Traits
Darkvision: Wageni can see in the dark up to 120 feet.
Hatred: Wageni gain a +1 racial bonus on attack and damage rolls made against humanoid creatures without the Wageni subtype.
Colorblind Life: Wageni gain a +2 racial bonus on Will saving throws to resist spells and spell-like abilities which do not work against sightless creatures, such as pattern effects and gaze attacks. In addition, if a wageni fails such a save, it receives another save 1 round later to prematurely end the effect (assuming the spell or spell-like ability has a duration greater than 1 round). This second save is made at the same DC as the first. If the wageni has a similar ability from another source (such as a rogue's slippery mind talent), it can only use one of these abilities per round, but can try the other on the second round if the first reroll ability fails.
Self-Assured: Wageni believe that their education and understanding is unequivocally correct. Wageni may make Knowledge skill checks untrained and gain a +2 insight bonus on untrained Knowledge skill checks. If a wageni rolls a natural 1 one a Knowledge skill check they are not trained in, they create a falsehood to fill in their lack of understanding (chosen by the GM). A wageni believes this knowledge wholeheartedly, even if confronted with evidence to the contrary.
Binary Understanding: Wageni have a deep understanding of black and white, of light and shadow. Wageni gain a +1 racial bonus to their caster level when casting a spell with the darkness descriptor or light descriptor.
Emotional Fragility: A wageni’s xenophobia causes massive cognitive dissonance, leading to strong emotional responses in otherwise harmless conversation. A wageni takes a -2 penalty on Diplomacy checks made to influence creatures without the wageni subtype.
