Bonded to the leylines that crisscross that world of Almira, the Scar Fated Arcanist casts spells by drawing ley power through her scars.
Ley Scars
The scar-fated arcanist manifests scars which change their shape to match the magical ley lines that flow beneath the earth. As she moves from place to place, the scar-fated arcanist’s scars change painfully to continually map local ley lines. The scar-fated arcanist uses her Constitution score and modifier instead of her Intelligence score and modifier for all class features, including spells.
Burning Scars (Ex)
The scar-fated arcanist’s spells are powered by ley energy, drawn through her scars. This massive transfer of power burns her when she casts spells. When the scar-fated arcanist casts a spell, her maximum hit points are reduced by an amount equal to the level of the spell. This does not reduce her current hit points unless her current hit points would be more than her new maximum hit points. This reduction ends when she regains her spells at the beginning of the day.
Ley Balm (Su)
At 5th level, when the scar-fated arcanist casts a spell she may choose to convert the prepared spell into ley energy, assuaging the burning of her scars. When the arcanist casts a spell, she may expend the prepared spell she cast in addition to the spell slot used to cast the spell. If she does, she does not reduce her maximum hit points.
This replaces the arcanist exploit gained at 5th level
Scar Maps (Sp)
At 13th level, the scar-fated arcanist can study her scars to find ley lines and walk between them. She may cast teleport as a spell like ability a number of times per day equal to her Constitution modifier. Casting in this way is complicated and takes 1 round per creature transported. At 17th level, this functions as greater teleport instead, with the same restrictions.
