Deep within the Amiraz Floe, the spirits of ages past lie trapped in stasis. These departed souls are unable to die, frozen into existence by the bitter cold. The Frozen Spirit Binder calls to these poor spirits, granting them a new body and a chance to finally descend to the Catacombs.
Channel Frozen Spirit
When the frozen spirit binder channels a spirit, he channels a frozen spirit from the Amiraz Floe. When a frozen spirit gains at least 3 points of influence over the medium, the biting cold of the flow begins to manifest in the frozen spirit binder’s body.
Whenever the medium takes damage while his spirit has at least 3 points of influence over him, the resulting chill causes the medium to take +1 point of cold damage per damage die (minimum). This damage cannot be prevented. However, the spirit’s inability to descend to the Catacombs grants the medium a +4 bonus on saving throws against death effects.
If a frozen spirit ever attains 5 or more points of influence over the medium, the medium’s soul begins to decay in frozen spirit’s stead. He gains 1 negative level every 10 minutes until he has a number of negative levels equal to his medium level. These negative levels do not kill the frozen spirit binder if he has the same number of negative levels as his level, instead rendering him unconscious. These negative levels fade when the frozen spirit binder loses contact with his spirit and cannot be removed any other way.
This replaces the bonuses and penalties imparted by the medium’s spirit for having excessive influence
Chilling Spirit (Su)
A frozen spirits’ spirit bonuses apply on attack and damage rolls with attacks that deal cold damage, in addition to their other bonuses. This bonus stacks with itself if a single roll would meet this requirement and the requirements of the channeled spirit, for example a medium channeling the Champion spirit and attacking with a frost weapon would add twice .
This replaces seance boon
Legend Channeler (Su)
At 2nd level, when the frozen spirit binder channels a frozen spirit, he gains the ability to embody the saga of a Frost Hawk Legend whose saga was known by the channeled spirit. He may embody that legend as a free action for a number of rounds equal to 1/2 his level (minumum 1) while he is channeling his spirit. These round need not be consecutive. A frozen spirit knows the sagas of 3 Frost Hawk Legends determined at random.
This replaces shared seance
Frozen Release (Su)
At 18th level, when the frozen spirit binder dies while he is channeling a frozen spirit, he may allow the spirit to assume control of his body. The spirit’s soul replaces the medium’s own. This functions as reincarnation, except that the frozen spirit binder’s body is the soul’s new body, and the frozen spirit the medium was channeling becomes the body’s new soul.
This replaces spacious soul
