Spells
A planar pioneer adds the following spells to his spell list: 4th- contact other plane, 5th- plane shift, 6th- planar refuge
Explorer’s Bond
Starting at 1st level, a planar pioneer gains a mentor, as the Paragon class feature. The planar pioneer gains access to new companions at every 5th level and every 4 levels beyond the 1st, to a maximum of summon monster and summon nature’s ally V at 17th level.
This replaces arcane pool. The planar pioneer cannot select magus arcana which require him to spend points from his arcane pool.

At 4th level, the planar pioneer can focus on distant locations. This functions as though he were using a telescope with x10 magnification. The planar pioneer is denied his Dexterity bonus to his AC while focusing this way. This ability functions as a x25 magnification telescope at 8th level and a x50 magnification telescope at 14th level.

Explorer’s Magic Cloak
At 7th level, the planar pioneer and his mentor gain a dodge bonus to his AC equal to his Intelligence modifier. At 13th level, this bonus is a deflection bonus instead of a dodge bonus. This stacks with other dodge bonuses.
This replaces knowledge pool and improved spell recall
Explorer Training
At 10th level, the planar pioneer gains the training of those adept at exploration. He counts his levels as ranger and druid levels for the purpose of qualifying for feats
This replaces fighter training
