While most monks leave encumbering armor and shields behind, the Shield Acrobat uses the largest shield of all in his acrobatic attacks. This monk dances around and over his planted shield, delivering quick and punishing blows before retreating back to his mobile sanctuary.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency
A shield acrobat is proficient with tower shields, though not with other shields. He is not proficient with monk weapons.
This modifies weapon and armor proficiencies
Agile Wall (Ex)
The shield acrobat treats any tower shield he is holding as though it is donned. He gains the AC bonus provided by the tower shield and can plant the shield, but does not suffer the maximum Dexterity bonus or armor check penalty imparted by the shield and is not treated as armored for the purposes of his AC bonus, fast movement, and flurry of blows abilities.
This replaces the bonus feat gained at 1st level
Leaping Flurry (Ex)
A shield acrobat uses his tower shield as both counterweight and cover. He may only make a flurry of blows while holding a planted tower shield.
This modifies flurry of blows
Swift Cover (Ex)
At 2nd level, the monk learns to take cover behind his tower shield as a move action. At 10th level, he can take cover as a swift action. At 14th level, he may do so as a free action. At 20th level, he may do so as an immediate action.
This replaces this bonus feats gained at 2nd, 10th, and 14th level, and Perfect Self
Shield Dancer (Ex)
At 6th level, the monk can spend a move action to make a Stealth check to hide when he has cover from his tower shield. He takes a -20 penalty on this skill check. This penalty is reduced by effects which reduce the penalty to Stealth skill check when sniping.
This replaces the bonus feat gained at 6th level
Agile Fortress (Ex)
At 18th level, the monk can make a Stealth check to hide as part of the action used to plant his tower shield. If he does so, he must use the cover provided by his tower shield as the cover which enables him to make a Stealth check.
This replaces the bonus feat gained at 18th level.
