the wanderer walks
the paths of the land comfort in the humble step -the planar labyrinth
|
1st - The Unformed Plane of Earth
The opposite and antithesis to the Unformed Plane of the Mountain, the Unformed Plane of Earth is a flat expanse that extends infinitely in all direction. Composed of and interlocking and abutting patchwork of flat terrains, a single day’s journey can bring a traveler through icy tundras, rolling plains and vast wastelands. There is not upward or downward motion within the Unformed Plane of Earth, one may only wander eternally towards the horizon.
2nd - Elemental Plane of Earth
Like all elemental planes, the Elemental Plane of Earth has no horizon, it is simply a plane filled with rocky earth. Without the ability to burrow or glide, it is impossible to move through this dense plane.
3rd - Arcadia, the Last Sanctuary
This pristine pasture is home to all growing things, all pastures and farm animals. Sparse woods conceal game animals like deer and rabbits. Pristine water from mountain glaciers runs through the land, providing potable water for drinking and irrigation. Those who find their way to this paradise and are pure of heart are judged by the Agathions and Azata who live there. If there are worthy, they are allowed to partake in Arcadia’s bounty. The spirits of nature within Arcadia are strong and resilient, and those who commune with these spirits to gain power (such as the shaman and spirit bonded kineticist) find that their powers are greatly enhanced within this outer plane.
4th - The Catacombs
This large, spiraling tower pierces through the Earthen Tract into the Astral Plane, connecting it to the rest of reality. Four Bridges within the Astral Plane are used by the spirits of the dead to enter into the quiet darkness of the Catacombs. The souls who dwell here bask in its peace, the serenity preventing the soul from feeling the pain of its decay. Once the soul decays fully, the soul dust that is left behind is collected by graveflies and placed together to coalesce into new souls. The god Chriuk, the Graveyard Man, meditates eternally in the darkness of the Catacombs, preventing the theft or misuse of this sacred place. Click to learn more about Death and Dying in Almira.
