The benevolent optimist blesses his allies just as he curses his foes. A beacon of hope and a healing soul, this psychic caster uses his talents to invigorate and rejuvenate even his most disconsolate allies.
Bestow Optimism (Su)
The gaze of the benevolent optimist reassures his allies as much as it disconcerts his enemies. When the benevolent optimist uses his hypnotic stare, he may choose an ally within 30 feet to benefit from his stare. The beneficiary of the mesmerist’s stare gains a morale bonus on equal to the penalty inflicted by his gaze. This includes penalties inflicted by his bold stare.
The mesmerist can only grant this bonus to one ally at a time; it remains in effect until the mesmerist stops maintaining his stare or until his ally moves farther than 30 feet away.
This replaces painful stare
Hope Against Fear (Su)
The benevolent optimist gains a bonus on Will saving throws against fear effects equal to 1/2 his mesmerist level (minimum +1).
This replaces consummate liar
Solid Mind (Su)
At 2nd level, the benevolent optimist may provide emotion components while affected by non-harmless fear effects.
This replaces towering ego
Leeching Gaze (Su)
At 4th level, when the benevolent optimist or the beneficiary of his stare deal combat damage to the target of his hypnotic stare, the attacker is cured of 1 points of damage. This healing increases by 1 point at 8th level and every 4 levels thereafter (maximum 5 hit points at 20th level).
This replaces the mesmerist tricks gained at 4th, 8th, 12th, 16th, and 20th levels
Hopeful Benediction (Sp)
At 11th level, the benevolent optimist can invoke a hopeful benediction, granting renewed vigor to a struggling ally. He may use his touch treatment class feature on the beneficiary of his stare without touching them. Doing so requires a verbal component.
This replaces glib lie
Bountiful Blessings (Sp)
At 20th level, when the benevolent optimist uses his hypnotic stare, he can designate up to three creatures as the beneficiaries of his gaze, instead of one.
This replaces rule minds
