Almira is a mysterious land with deep lore dating back thousands of years. From the 8 human tribes who balance the magic of the world, to the Frost Hawks who retrieve the frozen dead from the Amiraz Floe, to the Four Bridges of the Afterlife, there is a mass of lore to explore.
The Outer Planes of Almira are arranged into eight planar tracts, each corresponding to a trigram of the I-Ching. At the center is the Material Plane, surrounded on all sides by the Astral Plane. The eight planar tracts extend out from the Material and Astral Planes, beginning with a tract’s Unformed Plane and extending onward.

These frozen spirits are watched over by the Frost Hawks, a militia composed of a variety of spiritual peoples. Frost Hawk expedition teams journey out in search of frozen souls and use their magic to set them free

Before the Dusk Crusade, humanity thrived in Almira. Humans led advancements in architecture and urban planning, magical theory and academics. They created sprawling cities filled with grand temples and resplendent libraries, irrigation systems and magical factories that were the rival of all the other races.
When the Dusk Crusade swept across the land, their fiendish and vampiric forces captured nearly all of humanity to be used as slaves or meat animals in the newly built Palace of Sin. In this current age, the human tribes have been rebuilt, but no amount of time can replace their loss. |
