A deity of wisdom and ethical assassination, Alquatl understands that a system can be fixed by removing the points of corruption that weaken it. Appearing as a wise old man in flowing robes armed with double-chain kamas, Alquatl is famed for his assassinations of divine heralds. Followers of Alquatl often work in packs, leading coordinated strikes against commanders on both sides of a battlefield, in hope that wars can be ended before a single battle is fought.
Alquatl’s Meditations
And then came the 1000th day of battle, with neither side possessing advantage in tactics, might, or magics. Thousands lay slain across a still battlefield, the ground tinged copper with the blood of the fallen. It was then that the soldiers laid down their arms and cried to the heavens “For all we have suffered, where is our reward? To whom shall we pledge our undying devotion? What great god shall deliver us from this senseless battle?”
And then from the tent of their generals, and from the tents of their general’s generals, there was heard a great cry, as the gates of The Catacombs swelled with their master’s souls.
“This is what the machinations of kings has wrought,” a great voice whispered through the battlefield. “I am Alquatl, The Hidden Blade, The Truth in the Darkness, The Sigil of Salvation. Pledge yourselves to my protection, and I will save you from the horrors unleashed by the greed of the prideful and unlearned.”
And as one, the soldiers, the first worshippers of Alquatl, fell to their knees, and pledged themselves to the protection of The Truth in the Darkness.
