A rune tutored chanter learns ancient stories from ancient ruins. He is both a dungeon delver and a researcher, a living repository of ancient knowledge to time.
Commune with Ruins (Sp)
The ruin-tutored chanter can stir ruins to a limited sense of awareness and consciousness, allowing them to answer questions. Doing so requires a 10 minute ritual, during which the skald may ask one question of the ruins per skald level he possesses. The answers to these questions are given at the end of the ritual, so he may not ask questions based on the ruins’ answers.
A ruin’s knowledge is limited to the events that happened within during the time of their prominence. Events which happened before the original structure was built or after it was abandoned or destroyed are outside of the scope of a ruin’s knowledge. The helpfulness of answers given by the ruins is dependant on the purpose of the ruins and the goals of the skald, however the ruins always speak the truth. For example, the stronghold of an evil tyrant would do its best to subvert the efforts of adventurer’s who seek to prevent its master’s return. It could not lie, but it could give a cryptic or misleading answer. Once a ruin has answered a specific question, it provides the same answer if asked again. The skald may use this ability once per day at 1st level and an additional time per day at 20th level.
Ruin Tutored

He may gains a rogue talent or investigator talent at 3rd level and every 3 levels thereafter. The skald may not select a talent which affects sneak attack, studied combat or studied strike, even if he has those abilities from another class.
